Parenting is a job most people agree they learn as they experience it. Nollywood actor, Ayo Badmus recently opened up about fatherhood. The middle-aged actor shared some insights on being a good father and revealed that he would have been better at the job if he had thought to put his family in one place.
Speaking to Punch, Ayo defined fatherhood as a major responsibility which must be attended with all seriousness and alertness. He said: “Fatherhood means responsibility. It is being a father to your children, a head of the house and a person who takes responsibility for everyone in the home. A father is like an umbrella where every other member of the house takes shade.”
Although Badmus is a proud father of two boys, he admitted to wanting a girl and shared how much of his love and care he would have poured on the baby girl, had he been opportune to father one. When asked if he wished for a girl self, he said: “Yes, I still want a girl. I want to carry the girl. The love I had been unable to express to the boys, I want to shower her with all the emotions. I will name her after my mother and sing for her; dance for her and all that. My mother gave me some songs before she died and I want to sing them for my girl child.”
