Since May 22, 1973, Nigerian graduates have been enjoined to serve the nation for a year through the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). This was done to help in the development of the country by promoting national unity, especially after the ills caused by the civil war.
The NYSC is a compulsory scheme for graduates, and the inability of a graduate to produce his or her NYSC certificate can hinder such graduate from getting a job or from contesting for political office in future. There are several disadvantages of not having a NYSC certificate. DMW artiste, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, recently shared photos of himself rocking the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) uniform.
The star also shared a video on his Instastory where he revealed that he has registered for NYSC. In his caption on Instagram, he revealed that he is tying up every loose end. Perhaps his move to serve the nation is inspired by the hard time some politicians are currently facing in the country due to their inability to provide a legitimate NYSC certificate and school certificate. In a wise move by the artiste, he wants to avoid any probable problems that might come up in the future. Nigerians have reacted to the photos the singer shared in his NYSC uniform.
