The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Godwin Obaseki, winner of the 2020 governorship election in Edo State.
Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh, INEC’s Returning Officer, announced the total result of the 2020 governorship election.
Incumbent Governor, Obaseki of PDP ran against APC’s candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu and 13 others.
Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh, INEC’s Returning Officer, said APC polled 223,619 votes while PDP got 307,955 votes.
Rim-Rukeh, while declaring Obaseki winner, said the incumbent governor was returned elected after satisfying all requirements in line with the law.
