Nigerian Government has revealed that the country might go into another lockdown as schools begins to Reopen across States.
Boss Mustapha, the secretary to the government of the federation and chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 said on reopening of schools by states government he warned that another lockdown might be imminent if the citizens refuse to abide with the preventive measures put in place by the PTF on COVID-19.
Boss Mustapha said on Monday, at the joint national briefing of the taskforce, he said that recently, the scientific community came out with an attempt to explain some new manifestation of COVID-19 spread.
In his words, some country has returned to lockdown. He stated that Israel has re-introduced a three-week lockdown, while the UK might also put in place another lockdown phase.
Mustapha explained that Spain has introduced a partial lockdown in Madrid, with other European countries putting strict measures in place to contain the virus.
The SGF cautioned that another lockdown might become necessary as there has been increase in the rate of disregard for basic non-pharmaceutical measures that have proven very successful.
Mustapha also expressed his disappointment at how citizens have turned face masks into chin masks and at how social distancing rules have been disregarded by many.
