Buhari Meets First Class Traditional Rulers In Abuja

On Thursday, President Muhammadu Buhari met with first class traditional rulers from the six geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The meeting with the National Council of Traditional Rulers took place at the presidential villa in Abuja. The two co-chairpersons of the council, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi led the monarchs. Remember that Council of Traditional Rulers on Tuesday met in Abuja where national socio-economic and security issues were discussed.

Gridlock as fuel queues return to Abuja

Long queues have resurfaced to filling stations in Abuja, thereby leading to gridlock in areas that are affected. On Tuesday morning, some filling stations were not dispensing, a few others dispensing were besieged by motorists. The situation resulted to long queues which affected the free flow of traffic affected in areas. On Herbert Macaulay Way, Central Business District, a long queue was sighted at Conoil filling station that was dispensing fuel. Also, Total filling station on the same road was not dispensing as of press time but motorists were already on a long queue, anticipating that the fuel attendants could start dispensing any time.

Thugs have continued looting of warehouses in Gwagwalada and Idu in Abuja

Suspected thugs have continued with the looting of warehouses where COVID-19 palliatives were kept. In Gwagwalada, a satelite town in the Fderal Capital Territory, the youths are presently looting some warehouses. We gathered that they carted away cartons of cereals, bales of clothes, bags of rice and millet and other commodities. Youths who raided some warehouses at Idu Industrial Estate on Sunday, have resumed their activities this morning. During their looting, hundreds of youths,  men,women and some children defied security operatives as they carted away different COVID19 palliatives.

BREAKING: Hoodlums invades Abuja industrial estate, loot warehouses

On Sunday, hundreds of thugs, invaded the Idu Industrial Layout in Abuja, raiding several warehouses. We gathered that the thugs made away with various items such as bags of rice, cartons of tin tomatoes,  cereals, milk, bales of Ankara materials, and other items. Despite the presence of some policemen, the hoodlums did not stop  instead they continued to plunder warehouses. The hoodlums were seen with stolen goods, loading tricycles and motorcycles as policemen fired teargas.

#EndSARS protester stabbed and died in Abuja

On Saturday, an #EndSARS protester, Anthony Onome, who was stabbed by thugs in Kubwa, Abuja, has died. According to reported, he died during treatment at the National Hospital, where he was taken to after he was attacked. Dr Tayo Haastrup, the National Hospital spokesman, confirmed Onome’s death on Monday. Dr Tayo said, “Onome died during treatment on Saturday and his body is in our mortuary. I don’t know if he was among the protesters but he was brought to the hospital for treatment after he was stabbed.”

Scared Traffic Warden Was Surprised With Goodies By #EndSARS Protest In Abuja

During a protest in Abuja, a traffic warden attempted to run away from his work when protesters approached the intersection where he was directing traffic in the Central Business District of Abuja. The #EndSARS protesters gathered around him and gave him water, soda, snacks, fruits and food. The protesters told him that they appreciated his work, that he was not an enemy, that they were agitating for police reform, that a better policing system would serve all Nigerians, and that efficient police is all that they want.  As the protesters left, the traffic warden felt touched about the way they treated him and bent his head in tears.

During the #EndSARS protest in Abuja, some armed thugs attacked Nigerians who were protesting against police brutality and extortion in Nigeria, unconfirmed number of people were injured and vehicles were also damaged in the process. As #EndSARS protesters would not pipe low until the government grants their 5 demand which are; The immediate release of all arrested protesters Justice for all deceased victims of police brutality and appropriate compensation for their families Setting up an independent body to oversee the investigation & prosecution of all reports of police misconduct (within 10days) In line with the new Police Act, psychological evaluation and retraining (to be confirmed by an independent body) of all disbanded SARS officers before they can be redeployed Increase police salary so they are adequately compensated for protecting lives and property of citizens. We gathered that the thugs attacked the protesters at Berger junction some minutes after the protest began in Abuja, we also gathered that the thugs were armed with cutlass and other weapons.

#EndSARS: Kanye West Urges Federal Government To Answer Nigerians’ Cries.

In a tweet, Kanye West, a US rapper and a Presidential candidate, has urged the Federal Government to listen to the and grant the demands of the youths protesting against police brutality in the country. Kanye West said, he stood with Nigerians, and urges the brutality of the police to end in Nigeria. In his tweet, he said, “I stand with my Nigerian brothers and sisters to end police brutality, the government must answer to the peoples’ cries #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria.” The Protesters who have no intentions of backing off, blocked the highways in Lagos, and has equally demanded that, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), the President addressed them. Though, Adamu Muhammed, the Inspector General of Police had on Sunday declared the dissolution of the FSARS in after widespread protest. The declaration of the dissolution of the FSARS by the Inspector of Police was not honored by the protesters especially those in Lagos and Abuja, as they have vowed to continue with the protest until something meaningful is done concerning the matter at hand.

A Person Kidnapped By Gunmen In Abuja.

On Wednesday night, at 8:30pm, a person was reportedly abducted on Wednesday by some gunmen in Pegi community in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja. The kidnappers fired many gunshots at a Volkswagen car, leaving the occupants with different degree of injuries. Mr Taiwo Aderibigbe, Chairman of Pegi Community Development Association confirmed the incident. The residents of Pegi community are now afraid to move around the area freely because the incident has sent fear across the area. Manzal Anjuguri, Public Relations Officer of FCT Police Command, was not available for comment when he was contacted. An incident like this had happened in the same community in June where three persons who were returning from work were kidnapped around 10:00pm.

Man narrates how his wife survived ghastly accident without sustaining a scratch in Abuja

The wonders of God they say cannot be explained or underestimated because He works in mysterious ways. A man is all out thanking God for saving his wife in a ghastly accident. Identified as Onoriode Kevin Akpe on Facebook, the man disclosed that his pretty wife was driving when another car hit her from behind along the Abuja Airport road on Wednesday, July 17. He added that instead of his wife car falling into the gutter, the host of angels carried it to the other side of the gutter while the car that hit his wife stumbled and ended in the wide gutter. Akpe’s full post reads: “And I will give MY angels charge over you so you would not dash your foot against a stone… “And so the almighty God preserved the life of my wife this morning as a fast moving car hit her car from behind as she was driving to work on the airport road Abuja …….and the hosts of angels carried the car over the huge gutter to the other side while the other car somersaulted into the gutter. We thank God no life was lost but a few injuries here and there. Only God can do this.. TO YOU ALONE WE GIVE THE PRAISE!”
