#EndSARS: How Sanwo-Olu ordered OP MESA to kill End SARS protesters – Coalition alleges

A civil society organisation, Lagos Democratic Coalition, has revealed that the soldiers who carried out the killing of unarmed protesters at Lekki Toll Gate were members of Operation MESA (known as OP MESA) in Lagos State. The coalition, in a statement signed by Henry Ojugbana Esq., its Secretary-General and Comrade Senami Ojikutu, Convener, and made available to DAILY POST on Sunday, went on to explain that the Governor has complete control over this security outfit and the RRS (Rapid Response Squad) as the chairman of the Lagos State Security Council that comprises the Commissioner of Police of Lagos State Command, the commander 9th Brigade of the Nigerian Army, the Director of State Security Service in Lagos State as well as heads of the Navy, Air Force, FRSC, Civil Defence and LASTMA. The Lagos Democratic Coalition said that the Governor’s order to violently disperse peaceful protesters from the Lekki toll gate with great force was carried out by and in command instruction to the coordinator of OP MESA by the Commander of the 9th Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Musa A. Etsu-Ndagi (allegedly without prior notice to or approval from the military authorities) as well as ACP Tunji Disu, the Commander of RRS. The group also said that the total number of persons killed during the Lekki tollgate massacre is yet to be ascertained, “we are aware that not less than 12 persons have been confirmed to have died from the fatal shooting and many have been confirmed to have been fatally shot during the carnage some of whom do not have access to and/or cannot afford medical treatment. “It is mind-boggling that Governor Sanwolu would order the killing and maiming of the very citizen he swore an oath (and has a constitutional duty) to protect. It is indeed a sad irony that the protesters gathered at the Lekki Tollgate to protest against police brutality and bad governance in the country only to be slain and maimed by their[…]

Tinubu visits Sanwo-Olu, says I didn’t go nowhere, I’m still Jagaban

Bola Tinubu, All Progressives Congress chieftain, has lamented the invasion looting of public and private assets in the state lately. On Saturday, Tinubu made this known when he paid a visit to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the State House in Marina. After the meeting with the governor, Tinubu said he did not travel out of the country as reported by some social media reporter. He continued by saying that the purpose of his meeting with Sanwo-Olu was to ask him if he had ordered soldiers to attack #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki toll gate on Tuesday. He continued by saying that the purpose of his meeting with Sanwo-Olu was to ask him, “if he didn’t order the attack, who ordered the attack? That’s all I needed from him.” He said, “First, we have to segregate the calendar – those who suffered casualty before the protests from the hands of SARS. You have to separate that from those who suffered casualty due to what happened at the toll gate. “For those who suffered casualty from SARS, the Commission of Inquiry that is already set up will unearth that and will make their recommendations. I trust the calibre and the character of the people there, they are independent. That is one. “Those who suffered casualty during the gunshots need to answer some questions too. Even though we want to help, we still must extract information that will help the government to prepare in future and understand how and when to react because the governor, in particular is a youth. “As a youth himself, he (Sanwo-Olu) quickly went to Abuja with the 5/5. The government immediately put into action, dissolved the SARS and had to work through other recommended actions, the needs they demanded. Within a few days, he reported back to the public. That is responsive enough. “But where are we getting the looting, the carnage, the burning, the invasion of police stations, stealing of arms, maiming of the innocent?[…]

All Progressives Congress chieftain, Bola Tinubu, says he will never be part of any carnage. Tinubu was reacting to Tuesday night attack which saw security forces open fire on #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki tollgate area of Lagos State. The former Lagos State governor spoke on Wednesday morning in a telephone interview with Channels Television monitored by The PUNCH. I will never be part of that.” Tinubu also denied having any investment in the Lekki Concession Company, the firm which manages the tollgate. He said, “I have no dime, no kobo investment in the tollgate. The APC chieftain said, “We are about 13 to 14 days into the protests now. Before now, I was being accused and reported to the Presidency that I was behind the protests, that I was a sponsor of the protests.” According to him, he said he refuted the allegations and “appealed to the youths” and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to respond to the demands of the #EndSARS protesters. “That was why he (Sanwo-Olu) set up the Judicial Commission of Inquiry. The stories of dead bodies found in ezu river in Anambra community!!

The accusations against James Nwafor are very significant in many ways. It shows that you may seem to get away with evil deeds, but you never really do get away. As the leader of Awkuzu SARS, James Nwafor was a god, albeit a very cruel god. He killed as he liked and nobody could stop him. Today, he is no god. He is a miserable creature hiding in fear for his life. It turned out that many of those he wasted their lives were indeed far more brave than he. In the era of the social media, James Nwafor’s problem is magnified ten fold. His entire family is being dragged into it. His son who is a law student and his daughters now know that their father is a mass murderer. It will hunt them forever. Nothing will please me more than James Nwafor being tried publicly and condemned for the many lives he destroyed. He is a real monster. But there is a truly controversial part to Nwafor’s story. That has to do with how much of Nwafor’s activities was known to the Chief Security Officer of the State where he operated. One name difficult to mention because he has many devoted supporters is Governor Peter Obi. Could hundreds of people be executed extra judicially or disappeared by one police precinct without some knowledge of the Governor? Does it mean that none of the victims’ families ever complained? Let us assume that James Nwafor and his men killed only 100 men each year that Peter Obi was Governor. That will be 800 men killed during his 8-year tenure. Let us assume that nobody in the government knew that those 800 men were killed, but instead they believed they just disappeared. Can you now imagine what a serious problem it should be for any governor that every year, 100 men would disappear without trace? How did Governor Obi react to the fact that 100 men disappeared in Anambra State each[…]

SARS: Buhari Must Resign Now…Fani- Kayode Tells Nigerians Next Action.

Fani-Kayode, a Former Minister of Aviation, has called for the removal of President Muhammadu Buhari through a similar protest that led to the scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS. The former minister, who is also a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, noted that the End-SARS protests represent a watershed in the history of demonstrations in Nigeria. He pointed out that this was the first time in the last 60 years Nigerians had recognised the fact that they can effect change and bring government to its knees by taking to the streets in peaceful protest. Fani-Kayode commended the courage of Nigerians who took it upon themselves to ensure that the government disbanded SARS by protesting but urged “them to not just call for the ending of SARS but also for the resignation of Buhari.” Giving his reasons, the Former Minister said Buhari, as Nigeria’s President, has no value for human life and that innocent Nigerians had been brutally murdered under his watch than at any other time in the history of the country outside of the civil war. For Fani-Kayode, Buhari “has lost his legitimacy and has no right to remain in power.” “#Endsars and #EndPoliceBrutality is just the beginning. #EndBuhari’s rule and the resignation of Buhari and his entire Govt. must be the final destination,” he tweeted. “Many have been killed during this #Endsars demonstrations and they are still being killed. Their blood must not be allowed to have been shed in vain. “Every drop of their blood must count for something and must act as a catalyst to a total change and overhaul of the entire system and a new beginning. It must lead to the end of Buhari’s sheer wickedness and impunity and it must usher in a new Nigeria where mass murder, ethnic cleansing, genocide, police brutality, tribal and religious divisions corruption, nepotism and impunity are things of the past. “Take it or leave it, this may well be the beginning of our own[…]

A young lady protesting extrajudicial activities by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) has allegedly been shot in her mouth by an officer of the Lagos State Police Command. #EndSARS protesters, mostly made up of youths, had sustained day two of their three-day planned protest against the pernicious actions of the SARS police unit. On Thursday night, after the second day of the protest, the protesters had pitched their tent in front of the Lagos State Government house in Alausa as they met the absence of the Governor. However, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, reportedly ordered his men to dislodged the #EndSARS protesters by seizing their camping chairs and canopies.
