Doctors Begin Strike Action In Ondo State

On Monday, resident Medical Doctors working with hospitals owned by the Ondo State government started delivering skeletal services in protest of several months of unpaid salaries. The medical doctors also threatened to embark on indefinite strike action starting from next Monday, 9 November 2020,  if the government fails to attend to their demands. These medical practitioners accused the government of owing them four months unpaid salaries. Dr Taiwo Olagbe, spokesman of the aggrieved doctors, said it was detrimental for other workers who are under health management board to receive their regular salaries while resident doctors were made to thole. He therefore, called upon the government to address their condition and impelled well-meaning Nigerians to also prevail on the government to pay their dues.
