Davido and Mayorkun team up for making of “The Best” video

Popular singer, Davido, and label mate, Mayorkun, have teamed up to deliver The Best video. Certainly one of the most anticipated visuals from his most recent album, A Better Time, the singer certainly gave his best for the video. Although Davido’s album has a plethora of A-list artistes, both internationally and locally, the song, The Best, seems to be the best song on the album for most of his fans. Shortly after the release of the album, the song made its way to various chart platforms and stayed on the number one spot for weeks It seems the visuals will also receive commercial success. Like the comic book duo, Batman and Robin, the collaboration of Davido and Mayorkun have always resulted in a hit song and this is no different. The video for The Best has a Japanese Samurai theme with a cameo appearance for ace singer, Wande Coal, as his name was mentioned in the song several times. Directed by Dammy Twitch, the visual of the song sees Mayorkun reading a scroll while on a quest. He stumbles on a damsel sitting pretty as she plays the saxophone. As he initiates a conversation with her, even though she is beaming with smiles and interested in talking with Mayorkun, her Shaolin guards accost him and beat him up. Typical of a Japanese action movie, in his quest to revenge for the beating he received, he goes to Davido’s Shaolin temple, where Wande Coal is one of the teachers. He makes gestures, apparently explaining his plight to his new master – Davido – who immediately begins tutoring Mayorkun on how to fight and become a fierce warrior. This part of the video where he teaches Mayorkun how to fight syncs with Mayorkun’s part of the chorus in the song which says, “I learnt from the best o, the best; David o, forget o. Mo bad. Forget now.” After his intensive training, he returns to restore his honour in a fight in[…]

Russian model stabs Husband

A 26-year-old Model, Lilia Sudakova, has been charged with stabbing her husband to death with a kitchen knife in Russia. According to Mirror.UK, Sudakova is accused of killing her 28-year-old husband, Sergey Popov, after he brought home a woman he met at a bar and demanded his wife cook for the pair. Her mother, Irena Sudakova claims the model was a longtime victim of domestic abuse, and that she had acted in self-defense. ‘Lilia is a victim, it was self-defense. This was such a sick love. It all happened by accident, it was an accident.’ She said that Popov had repeatedly beaten Lilia when he was drunk. Her son-in-law was ‘smart’, ‘mesmerizing with his mind’, and a computer genius, but he was an ‘alcoholic’ who could be ‘an arrogant snob’ and she had witnessed him beating Lilia. ‘My daughter was completely sober,’ she said, claiming the law is biased against victims of domestic abuse in Russia. The model’s friend, stylist Karolina Pavlovskaya, also said Lilia had been a victim of abuse. ‘She was a broken-down girl with a beautiful appearance, but emptiness inside,’ she said. After the stabbing, Lilia immediately called an ambulance, and Popov was rushed to the hospital where he died. She confessed to stabbing her husband of four years with a knife and initially told police it was due to jealousy after he flirted with the woman, according to Russian media. She has been charged with manslaughter and detained in pretrial custody for two months. Lilia faces up to 15 years in jail if convicted.

Cavani to be investigated by English FA over social media post

Edinson Cavani’s joy at scoring twice for Manchester United on Sunday could be dampened as he is to be investigated by the Football Association over a social media post he subsequently deleted. The 33-year-old Uruguayan striker sent an Instagram post including the Spanish word “negrito” (‘black’) in reply to a message of congratulations after his brace completed a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Southampton. United said the word was clearly used in an affectionate manner and has different connotations in South America. The club said the former Paris Saint Germain forward had been informed such terms are viewed as derogatory in Britain and he subsequently deleted the post. The FA issued guidelines pre-season clamping down on the racist and discriminatory language and behavior, with offenses on social media carrying a minimum three-game ban. Recalling, Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva and Dele Alli of Tottenham were both suspended for one match last season after posts that breached the guidelines.

House gift to my mom also belongs to my dad —Emanuella

Emanuella Samuel, a popular comedienne, says the early Christmas house gift to her mother also belongs to her father as well. Social media has been on fire since the 10-year-old comedienne announced last week that she built her mother a house. “I built this for you mom. For all the prayers; all the encouragement and support. Mummy, I know you said you want a portable house and this is it. But forgive me because I must complete your mansion for you next year. Don’t worry, it won’t make us go to hell; my super Christmas mummy. I love you,” Emanuella had captioned photos of the house in a post on her Instagram account. There have been comments flying everywhere especially on some social media users who had the opinion that the young actress should also build a house for her father since she built one for her mother. Then speaking on Monday in a PUNCH Facebook Live Interview, Emanuella said the house gift also belonged to her father too. She said, “I wanted to buy another car for my dad but Uncle Mark now told me to save more money and build the house that I promised my mom. So, I talked with my manager and they built the house and furnished it. See the house now, is it not fine? “If it is for my mom, it is for everybody; it’s for my dad too. My dad is married to my mom. After all, they are living together.” Emanuella tagged all that has been happening in her life to “God’s grace”. “Everything is God’s grace. I never ‘experrit’. When God wants to use you, He will use you at the right time,” she noted. Emanuella’s producer, Mark Angel, also said in the exclusive interview with The PUNCH that the young actress could afford to build the house. Mark Angel said, “Emanuella earns money, so she has money to build whatever she wants to build. She can afford it. Her management can afford it.”
